Announcing a significant new milestone: an upcoming independent study using Coro at the Lundquist Institute.
We have always maintained that Coro is not just a device, it is a tool to bridge the gap between uncertainty and information.
Today we are excited to announce a new chapter that moves us further into the medical and academic community. We know that concerns about milk supply are one of the leading reasons mothers stop breastfeeding earlier than they might have liked. We also know many parents want and deserve the best tools available to understand what their baby is receiving.
We are announcing a significant new milestone: an upcoming independent study using Coro at the Lundquist Institute, led by Dr. Michael Ross and Dr. Mina Desai.
This research will focus on the practical application of Coro in assessing milk volume and composition ingested by newborns. By utilising Coro alongside specialised milk analysers, the study aims to provide a clearer picture of intake, which is vital for promoting exclusive breastfeeding and ensuring optimal newborn nutrition.
As Dr. Ross notes “Dr. Mina Desai and I will shortly initiate a study of Coro to assess both the milk volume and milk composition ingested by newborn infants. The study is approved by the Institutional Research Board at the Lundquist Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and will be performed in conjunction with the NIH funded Clinical and Translational Science Institute at Lundquist. An understanding of milk volume and composition, through the use of Coro and milk analyzers, can aid in promoting exclusive breast feeding while assuring optimal newborn nutrition.”
For parents, this means a step forward in evidence-based care. For us here at Coroflo, we believe that when parents are empowered with knowledge, they feel more confident in their feeding journey. We are honoured to support this research and look forward to sharing more insights as this partnership develops.
